The media interviewed Desmond Ng, Head of Asia Pacific and Philip Tso, Head of Institutional Business Asia Pacific at Allianz Global Investors regarding risklab and the partnership with WeLab, which is one of eight licensed virtual banks in Hong Kong.

“The deal will be the firm’s first building block for going digital in the region,” Desmond Ng says. He mentioned that the risklab is AllianzGI’s fintech arm for client advice that is customised and geared toward specific outcomes. Philip added that risklab is AllianzGI’s engine to add value to the ultimate investor and that the partnership gives AllianzGI the chance to promote risklab’s capabilities to a different investor set.
