Divergence on growth and policies: China Vs developed markets

China and developed markets look increasingly divergent on their cyclical growth and macro policy trajectories. We expect that the developed economies are likely to see more cyclical growth slowdown in the coming quarters. The US and EU have their hands tied on the policy front due to rising inflationary pressures.

Chinese equities more appealing in 2H22

Unlike the US and EU, China sees limited inflationary pressure which allows Chinese authorities to continue policy easing and provide stimulus to boost growth. Also, we believe valuation on Chinese equities is at a historical low, making the asset class even more appealing vis-à-vis its developed markets counterparts.
