The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a holistic and transparent framework can help investors direct their capital into potential growth investment opportunities while making a positive impact on the economy and society. The paper introduces two approaches that make the SDGs investable and explains the difference: (1) SDG-aligned investing via thematic equity investments and (2) impact investing, ranging from green bonds to a variety of private markets investments.
#GreenGrowth: Enabling the next long wave of growth
Summary
With international agreements addressing the challenges facing society and many governments committing to carbon neutrality, the next wave of growth will be #GreenGrowth. This kind of growth will be different than in the past, for instance, with less energy/resource consumption and more efficient use of energy/resource. Investing in new technologies and innovative solutions will be needed to enable the transition – a long-term growth opportunity for investors. The paper provides three examples.
